Statesville, NC - Carolina Specialty Care, PA (CSC) is pleased to welcome Amy Heusinger, ANP-BC, to our medical team. Amy joins board certified pain medicine specialist Michael Burchell, MD, as a part of the interventional pain management specialty at CSC.

A graduate of Miami University in Oxford, Ohio, Amy earned a Bachelor of Science in Nursing at the Medical University of South Carolina, Charleston, followed by a Master of Science in Nursing at the UNC-Charlotte. She is certified by the American Association of Nurse Practitioners and is an active member of the North Carolina Nursing Association and the Metrolina Coalition of Nurse Practitioners.

Amy’s diverse experience as a nurse practitioner is valuable to CSC and its patients. In addition to working as an intensive care nurse, she brings years of managing musculoskeletal and pain care services for patients in the greater Iredell County and Charlotte-metro regions.

Because pain is so intertwined with general health, rheumatic diseases, and other conditions, Amy says she appreciates being a part of a multispecialty group. “I feel that many people are frustrated with seeing so many doctors in so many different locations. At Carolina Specialty Care, they have a continuity of care for their medical needs met at one location.”

Amy is committed to listening to patients’ concerns, keeping open communication, and understanding the diversity of pain conditions and individual needs. “I enjoy getting to know my patients as people. I try to focus on them as a whole and advise them in all areas of their health,” Amy says. “It is essential to build my patients’ trust, so they feel comfortable asking questions about their care.”

Additionally, Amy brings addiction medicine management as an additional service to our practice. She helps find solutions for pain patients challenged with some medical treatment options due to addiction - particularly addiction to opioids and other narcotic pain medications resulting from the escalation of chronic pain.

To schedule an appointment with Amy or any member of our medical team, please call our office at 704-872-8711.
