Iredell Health System is proud to announce the addition of Dr. Rachel Rader, DPM, to Iredell Wound Care & Hyperbaric Center.

Rader chose to join Iredell Health System because of its excellent reputation in the community.

“This well-respected and established organization will give me access to opportunities and experiences, which will help me continue my passion for caring for others and allow me to make a meaningful impact on my community,” shared Rader.

Rader earned her Doctor of Podiatric Medicine from Barry University School of Podiatric Medicine in Miami Shores, Florida, and completed her residency training at Cedars Medical Center and South Shore Hospital, both in Miami, Florida. She is a panel physician for Healogics® wound care experts, a member of the American Podiatric Medical Association, and a member of the North Carolina Foot & Ankle Society. She has completed research accepted by the Symposium for Advanced Wound Healing and has been a guest speaker for the North Carolina Foot & Ankle Society Winter Scientific Seminar. She brings 25 years of wound care experience to Iredell Health System.

“I chose wound care because it aligns with my passion for using evidence-based medicine,” explained Rader. “The growth in the field of wound care over the years has been exciting to witness. Caring for complex wounds and having proven options to choose from allows me to offer the best care to my patients and their families.”

Rader’s goal is to make a lasting impression on her patients’ wellbeing and truly listen to their concerns.

“Diagnosing rare conditions and providing comprehensive care is my mission as a wound care specialist. I am committed to delivering patient-centered care where my patients receive respectful and dignified treatment and are actively engaged in all decisions regarding their health. I love interacting with my patients utilizing my communication, critical thinking, and problem-solving skills to help make a significant impact on their lives.”

Rader is extremely active in the community. She currently volunteers at Feed NC, the Miss NC Scholarship Organization, Fifth Street Ministries, and the Greater Statesville Chamber of Commerce’s Leading Ladies committee. She also teaches a life skills class once a month to her daughter’s class at Statesville Montessori School.

She is the wife of Dr. Dale Rader, a Statesville orthopedic surgeon. The couple have lived in Statesville for the last 18 years and have three children. Rader enjoys medical research and promotes prevention and education with a concentrated passion for diabetic limb salvage. When not volunteering, she loves to travel, interior design, and event plan.

Her servant’s heart is carried with her both outside and inside the office.

“Patients can expect a warm welcome from a compassionate doctor that’s willing to listen. Wound care can be very challenging. Getting on the same page is paramount to achieving a successful outcome. I try my best to provide clear explanations and instructions about my patient’s condition so that, together, we can focus on getting the wound to heal.”

Rader encourages everyone to pay attention to their feet.

“Check your feet daily for cuts, sores, and swelling and avoid going barefoot, especially if you are diabetic.”

Rader is accepting referrals at Iredell Wound Care & Hyperbaric Center, a member of the Healogics® network.
