GFWC of NC Statesville Woman’s Club Present Proceeds From Champions For Children Chili Cook-Off
During the fall of 2024 the General Federation of Women’s Clubs of NC (GFWC of NC) Statesville Woman’s Club (SWC) hosted their “Champions For Children Chili Cook-Off” that benefited the Children’s Homes of Iredell County (CHIC) and the SWC Historic Clubhouse Capital Campaign. The club recently presented a donation from the event for $7,632.41.
CHIC serves children and young adults in residential settings, transitional living programs and aftercare initiatives. The SWC supports CHIC’s unwavering commitment to providing a safe, nurturing environment and essential support needed for these young individuals to thrive.
The SWC Historic Clubhouse Capital Campaign is a multi-year campaign to raise money for critical clubhouse repairs such as a new roof, new HVAC system and plumbing updates. The original Historic Clubhouse was built in 1927; the present one was rebuilt in 1928 after a fire and is listed on the National Register of Historic Places.
