Guardian Angels Receive Recognition
Did someone have a positive impact on you while you were visiting Iredell Memorial Hospital? The Guardian Angel Program is a great way to recognize top-notch care while supporting families in your community.
“These caregivers are really caring and do a great job. They are very friendly, and I like everything about them.”
“I am so thankful I got to have them work with me and got me well enough to go home. Please make sure they get recognized and tell their boss how lucky they are to have them.”
“Thank you for taking such great care of me! You guys are like my family and show that through your compassion and care!”
These are just a few remarks from patients who chose to recognize a staff member who made an impact on them through the Guardian Angel program.
The Guardian Angel program was created in 2024 to recognize hospital staff members who made an impactful difference in the level of care a patient received during their visit to the hospital. Since its inception earlier this year, 20 staff members have received the Guardian Angel pin, recognizing their hard work and dedication to inspire wellbeing — together.
“I’m proud that we have a program that provides a way for grateful patients and families to recognize individuals who made a meaningful impact through the compassionate care they received from our Iredell Health team members,” said Miles Atkins, Iredell Health Foundation Executive Director. “This program enables the Foundation to showcase the exceptional care we provide to our patients and, in doing so, demonstrates our appreciation by recognizing individuals as Guardian Angels.”
To recognize a staff member, a donation is made through Iredell Health Foundation, the health system’s philanthropic arm, to the Grateful Patients and Families Fund. This fund, created in 2022, provides an opportunity to express appreciation while giving a helping hand to patients in need. Grateful Patients & Families of Iredell is an annual fund with the Iredell Health Foundation that supports numerous unmet patient needs throughout Iredell Health System. Any donation, large or small, is accepted. Projects completed through this fund have included purchasing blanket warmers for radiation therapy and would care centers and implementing a clothing closet for patients leaving the hospital without clothing to wear.
