Harris hired as Assistant County Manager
Iredell County has hired a new Assistant County Manager that will join the team on April 22, 2024.
Since 2019, Rodney Harris has served as Deputy County Manager for Cabarrus County, North Carolina helping oversee day-to-day operations. Rodney started his local government career with Mecklenburg County (NC) as an Enterprise Management Analyst before being promoted to Director of Business and Financial Management and Procurement Manager. He also served as financial manager for the Charlotte-Mecklenburg Police Department.
Rodney holds a Bachelor of Arts in Political Science and a Master of Public Administration, both from the University of North Carolina at Charlotte, as well as a certificate for participation in the North Carolina Municipal and County Administration Course and Public Executive Leadership Academy (PELA), both through the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill. He is a Certified Local Government Finance Officer (CLGFO), Certified Government Financial Manager (CGFM), Certified Six Sigma Green Belt, and an active participant in professional organizations including the International City/County Management Association (ICMA), Government Finance Officers Association (GFOA), and North Carolina City and County Management Association (NCCCMA).
