Davis Regional Medical Center Sunshine Volunteers Award $6000 in Scholarships

June 8, 2022 - STATESVILLE, N.C. — The Lillie Norket Scholarship Committee of the Davis Regional Medical Center Sunshine Volunteers recently awarded scholarships to graduating seniors and adults who are pursuing professional careers in healthcare.

Sunshine Volunteer Vice President Terry Andrews, Scholarship Chair Judy Clark, and Sunshine Volunteer Treasurer Carol Windsor are featured with scholarship recipients Emory Crawford, Skylin Guill, Josie Cheveney, Ashton Parker, Brylee Gibson, and Hannah Helton.  

Emory Crawford is enrolled in the Nursing program at Davidson Community College. Skylin Guill is a graduate of North Iredell and will be pursuing a degree in Nursing from UNC-Chapel Hill. Josie Cheveney, also a North Iredell graduate, will be pursuing a degree in Physical Therapy at Montreat College. Ashton Parker, currently enrolled at East Carolina University, is pursuing a degree in Rehabilitation Services. Brylee Gibson, a West Iredell graduate, will attend High Point University for a degree in Pharmacy. Hannah Helton will attend East Coast Polytechnic Institute- Charlotte for a degree in Nursing.

Also receiving scholarships but not featured in the photo are: Whitney Coleman, enrolled in East Coast Polytechnic Institute’s Practical Nursing program, Brooklyn Ford, a South Iredell graduate attending the University of South Carolina in the fall to pursue a degree in Pharmaceutical Sciences, and Benita Rowe, a student enrolled in the Practical Nursing program at East Coast Polytechnic Institute.  Since its inception, the Lillie Norket Scholarship Foundation has awarded over $150,000 in scholarship to individuals pursing degrees in healthcare.
