Downtown Statesville Development Corporation is an independent 501(c)(3) non-profit dedicated to the revitalization of Downtown. By supporting the organization’s activities and efforts, you support the economic vitality of Downtown through:

• The marketing and promotion of our downtown as a destination and our small businesses
• The creation of events that bring people to the district
• The preservation of historic buildings
• The connection of property owners with resources and prospective businesses
• Education opportunities for entrepreneurs
• Further collaboration with other organizations and entities to create synergy and incremental change

Ultimately, we strive to create a place where people love to be. A place that values its history, but looks forward, ready for the future.

Downtown Statesville Development Corporation is a volunteer and community driven organization. We currently have a full-time Executive Director, a full-time Community Engagement Manager, and a part-time Executive Assistant.  Our board consists of 18 members made up of downtown property owners, business owners and managers, residents, and other community stakeholders. We also have ex-officio members to represent six of our partner organizations.  The work of the organization is accomplished through four committees: Promotion, Design, Economic Vitality, and Organization.

Downtown Statesville Development Corporation (DSDC) champions, promotes and leads Downtown Statesville as the economic, social and cultural engine in the region. This is achieved in collaboration with public-private partners working together to enhance the appearance, desirability and vitality of downtown.

Downtown Statesville Development Corporation has been around since 1982. We guide community-based revitalization efforts focusing on Downtown Statesville. We follow the Main Street America/NC Main Street Four Point Approach to harness the social, economic, physical, and cultural assets that set Statesville apart and ultimately lead to tangible outcomes that benefit the entire community.

We leverage both the art and science of downtown revitalization to create a better quality of life for all. The result of these efforts is a community with strong social cohesion and economic opportunity; a downtown that supports and sustains innovation and opportunity; places where people of diverse perspectives and backgrounds come together to shape the future.

Ultimately, we strive to create a place where people love to be. A place that values its history, but looks forward, ready for the future.

-By improving the image of Downtown through marketing efforts as well as physical improvements and sidewalk enhancements.

We work tirelessly to improve the appearance and economics of downtown and to create a place that people from all over the region love to be. A place that houses the best small businesses in the coolest buildings. A place that is entirely Statesville and unlike anywhere else. We invite you to Downtown Statesville to Dine. Shop. Discover.

And when you are here, look around. Admire the buildings that hold the history of our community. Smell the flowers that adorn the sidewalks. Shop the unique small businesses that are owned by your neighbors. See the people who make up this community that we call home.
