Executive Director, Statesville Convention & Visitors Bureau (SCVB)

The Statesville Convention & Visitors Bureau (SCVB) is seeking a dynamic and experienced leader to serve as its next Executive Director. This full-time position will oversee the operations, marketing, and strategic initiatives of the SCVB, working closely with the Board of Directors to promote Statesville as a premier tourism destination.

Key Responsibilities:

• Develop and execute strategic plans to achieve the SCVB’s mission and goals.
• Oversee marketing and promotional activities, including digital platforms, media relations, and brand management.
• Collaborate with local, state, and regional stakeholders to enhance tourism development.
• Provide leadership for Visitor Center operations and supervise SCVB staff.
• Manage financial operations, including budgeting, grant oversight, and compliance with financial best practices.
• Advocate for tourism’s role in economic development and foster community engagement.
• Maintain research-based decision-making to guide marketing strategies and initiatives.

Minimum Qualifications:

• Bachelor’s degree in marketing, communications, public relations, or a related field.
• At least five years of experience in marketing, tourism, or public relations, including budget management and campaign execution.
• Strong leadership, organizational, and communication skills.
• Knowledge of Statesville, NC, as a tourism destination and a passion for community engagement.

Preferred Qualifications:

• Master’s degree in a related field and certification(s) such as CDME, TMP, or CHIA.
• Experience working in a leadership role for a Destination Marketing Organization or Convention & Visitors Bureau.

Additional Requirements:

• Valid driver’s license.
• Ability to travel and attend industry events as needed.
