The final resting place of those who died without freedom are the most challenging to confirm, but the most rewarding to find. For generations, Black Americans lived enslaved on plantations throughout the country and were typically buried on the family property in unmarked graves. Most are lost, but the few that are found are sacred and precious to their legacy. Join us to learn about these sacred grounds here in Iredell County.
