Costume Parade

Our K-5 Costume Parade will take place at 1 pm on October 31, 2022:

  • Students will parade in their costumes through downtown.
  • Students may wear costumes to school that day and are encouraged to choose costumes that reflect a favorite book character. No violent costumes, face paint, or masks are allowed.
  • Parents are invited to watch our parade from the sidewalk. We will begin with Kindergarten. We recommend that you arrive early and watch from the first block on East Broad Street or Center Street so that you do not miss any of the students.
  • Some of the younger classes may use a shorter route by taking East Broad to turn left onto Center and walking straight down to the middle school if needed.

WALKING ROUTE:

K-3 students will leave from the front door of the Donovan Cook Center on East Broad Street and take a left. 4-5 students will leave from the church and cross over Broad St. At the corner of East Broad Street, we will turn left onto Center St. and use the crosswalk close in front of Andrea's Ice cream to cross over. (We are going to use these crosswalks with NO stoplight. Staff members will be in the crosswalks with stop signs to stop traffic.)

We will turn right on Center Street, go back down to the corner at East Broad and take a left to walk straight down East Broad to the Upper Room. Here, we will turn left onto Meeting St and go down one block to the corner at the Children's Museum.

From the museum, the parade will turn left and walk straight up Court Street, using the same crosswalk to cross back over Center Street. We will turn right to walk down past our middle school. Past our middle school, we will turn left on Front str, our students will walk up Cooper Street and return to ARS.

We are looking forward to this fun ARS tradition!
