Hannah Wilkerson - Class of 2005

"ARMS gave me so many opportunities that encouraged me to be excited to explore the world and really learn to love learning. From hiking in the Alaskan mountains with Mr. Duffy to reading challenging and thought provoking literature with Ms. Hartle, each staff member encouraged us and gave us the skills and support to try new things and push ourselves in a challenging season of our lives. Learning to be a part of the ARMS community included so many valuable lessons, and I carry the importance of those with me today. My experience at ARS is the foundation of the career I've made specializing in building community within grassroots change-making organizations and businesses. With ten years of experience in community outreach and cultivation, I'm passionate about the health of our environment and communities, with deep roots in food and environmental justice. I currently work for the Children's Environmental Health Network in Washington, DC as a Program Associate, focusing on digital communications. I live in Annapolis, Maryland with my husband, Brooks, our dog, Squish, and cat, Fizzgig." - Hannah Wilkerson
