Position Purpose

The role of a substitute teacher is to provide students with direct instructional support by following the lesson plans left by the classroom teacher. The substitute teacher is accountable for the classroom in the absence of the classroom teacher.

Essential Functions:

• Facilitate the learning of students by following lesson plans

• Upholding the core values and mission of the school

• Handling classroom management and discipline as laid out by the teacher

Suggested Education, Certifications, and Experience 

• Successful experience working with K-8 students

• 18 years or older

• High school diploma or higher level of education

• Able to nurture and grow a student academically, as well as Social/Emotionally
