Kim has always had a love for yoga and decided to take an instructor course from Tejas Yoga Lab in Cornelius. Her intention was not to become a teacher, but to improve her own practice. As she grew and evolved, teaching became her passion.
"I am devoted to living my yoga on and off the mat and I hope to inspire my students to do the same" Kim says. Her classes include mindful meditation, breath focused flows, and inspirational reflections.
In addition to being passionate about yoga practice, Kim is also very passionate about animals, and has always wanted to work with them in some capacity. A friend introduced her to Rescue Ranch and her search for meaningful volunteerism was over. Kim says that she instantly fell in love with the sweet souls that call the Ranch home. "It is such a heart happy place for me", she explains. Kim spends time weekly at the Ranch, and caring for each one of the animals brings so much purpose and joy to her life.
"I now have an opportunity to combine my two passions - yoga and my love of animals. She will be hosting this kick off class at the Ranch on February 1, 2024 at 8:00 am, followed by coffee and fellowship. The class is free but donations are greatly appreciated. Also, ALL proceeds from my Wednesday classes (4:30 pm) during the month of February at the Tejas Yoga Lab in Cornelius are going to be donated to the Ranch and Tejas has agreed to match up to $500.00. It's a wonderful thing when your passions become your purpose in life.
Kim Shaffer is a RYT 200 Certified Yoga Instructor, Aerial Yoga Instructor, and a Usui Reiki Master. In her free time, she loves spending time with her husband Pat, and three sons (and of course volunteering at the Ranch with 80+ animal ambassadors)
