We are currently reporting 3,000+ outages for Statesville Public Power customers due to two circuits being down. Crews are en route to assess the issue and begin restoration efforts.

We appreciate your patience as we work to restore power as quickly and safely as possible. To report an outage, call 704-878-3479. Please do NOT call 911 for power outages.

The National Weather Service has issued a severe weather warning for Statesville and surrounding areas this evening into tonight, bringing the potential for heavy rain, damaging winds, and tornadoes. Residents should prepare for hazardous conditions and stay informed as storms move through the region.

What to Expect

  • Severe Storms & Tornado Threat – Damaging wind gusts and tornadoes are possible. A strong tornado cannot be ruled out.
  • Heavy Rain & Flash Flooding – Locally heavy rainfall could lead to isolated flash flooding, especially in low-lying areas.
  • Wind Advisory in Effect – From midnight tonight to 2 PM Sunday, expect 15-25 mph winds with gusts up to 50 mph. These strong winds could knock down trees, power lines, and unsecured objects.

Safety Reminders for Residents:

  • Do NOT drive through flooded roads – Turn around, don’t drown!
  • Power Outages? City of Statesville Electric Customers should call 704-878-3479 to report an outage. Do NOT call 911 for power issues.
  • Downed Power Lines? Call 911 immediately and stay far away.
  • Trees in the Roadway? Report them to the Statesville Police Department’s non-emergency line at 704-878-3406.

Stay Alert & Be Prepared

  • Secure outdoor objects that could become airborne in high winds.
  • Have a weather radio or emergency alerts enabled on your phone.
  • Charge your devices in case of power outages.
  • Have flashlights, batteries, and emergency supplies on hand.
