Public Notice: Public Hearing Notice: Right-of-Way Abandonments Cameron Drive and International Drive


 LEGAL NOTICE TO THE GENERAL PUBLIC AND PARTICULARLY THE CITIZENS OF THE CITY OF STATESVILLE’S PLANNING JURISDICTION YOU WILL TAKE NOTICE:

That the City Council of the City of Statesville will hold and conduct two public hearings on the 17th day of February 2025 at 6:00 o’clock p.m. in the Council Chambers of City Hall, 227 South Center Street, Statesville, North Carolina.

The purpose of the first public hearing is to consider permanently closing a portion of unopened Cameron Drive between Museum Road and Macon Drive that was dedicated as part of the Beverly Heights Subdivision. The applicant and his neighbors intend to utilize this portion of the street to expand their properties. The City Council passed a Resolution of Intent to abandon on January 13, 2025. The full copy of the Resolution, including metes and bounds descriptions and a survey of the areas to be abandoned, are available at the City of Statesville Planning Department Office.

The purpose of the second public hearing is to consider permanently close a portion of International Drive between Davie Avenue and I-40. The applicant intends to split the land between NCDOT, I 40 Investments, and 2206 International Drive to gain additional land area to build a warehouse. The City Council passed a Resolution of Intent to abandon on January 13, 2025. The full copy of the Resolution, including metes and bounds descriptions and a survey of the areas to be abandoned, are available at the City of Statesville Planning Department Office.
