City of Statesville Announces 2024 Leaf Collection Schedule

Statesville, NC – October 9, 2024 – The City of Statesville will begin its annual leaf collection program on October 21, 2024. To make the process as efficient as possible, the city has divided its collection efforts into five areas. Crews will start in Area One and continue sequentially through the remaining areas. • Area Two: South of E. Broad Street and east of S. Center Street/Shelton Avenue.  Areas include E. Raleigh Avenue, Charles Street, Rolling Lane, East Side Drive, Valley stream Road, Florence Road, the Statesville Country Club and Brookmeade.
  • Area Three: North of E. Broad Street and east of I-77 including Camelot Drive, N. Greenbriar Road, Marthas Ridge, Simonton Road and Mocksville Hwy.
  • Area Four: North of E. Broad Street, between N. Center Street and south I-77 including Knox Street, Cythina Street, Davie Avenue, Sullivan Road, and Museum Road.

Loose Leaf Collection Guidelines

To help ensure an efficient collection, please follow these guidelines:

  • Place leaves at the curb in front of your residence, just behind the curb.
  • Do not place leaves on streets or sidewalks.
  • Avoid parking vehicles near leaf piles.
  • Ensure leaves are free of sticks or limbs.
  • Keep leaf piles clear of storm drains.
  • Do not cover water meters with leaves.

Bagged Leaf Collection

Residents can also take advantage of free 60-gallon leaf bags. Each household is eligible for one free roll of 10 bags in November. Additional rolls can be purchased for $2.00 each (limit two rolls per household through December 20, 2024). Bags are available at the following locations:

Please note, these bags are for leaf collection only, not for general garbage disposal. Bagged leaves will be collected with your regular garbage each week.

Important Reminders

Please note that the success of the loose-leaf collection program is weather-dependent. We will keep residents informed of any schedule changes or updates via our website, social media channels (Facebook), and Sunday night call updates.

Landscape contractors are responsible for removing any leaf piles they create, so please coordinate with them as needed.

For any questions or additional information about the loose-leaf collection schedule, please contact the Sanitation Department at 704-878-3415 or via email at [email protected].

Thank you for your cooperation and helping us maintain a clean and beautiful city this fall season!
