Warehouse Operations Manager

The role of the warehouse operations manager is to oversee receiving, warehousing, and shipping within distribution operations.  This position is responsible for managing the warehouse in compliance with the company’s policies and vision.  Is responsible for creating and implementing strategies that ensure all operating metrics are attained.  Is responsible for setting up warehouse storage, slotting and ensuring efficient space utilization.  Departments falling under this position include Picking, Packing and Receiving. In addition this position is responsible for identifying and managing continuous improvement projects in the distribution area.

·         Strategically manage warehouse in compliance with company’s policies and vision

·         Champions the company mission and values to the department and recognizes and rewards employees exemplifying company values in their work

·         Develops strategies to optimize efficiencies, quality, cost savings and On Time Delivery goals are achieved

·         Maintain standards of health and safety

·         Oversee receiving, warehousing and distribution operations

·         Setup layout and ensure efficient space utilization

·         Develops, implements, and monitor KPI’s

·         Analyzes and manages expenditures of each group to conform to budgetary requirements

·         Mentors and motivates direct reports within each group

·         Works with Customer Service Manager in reviewing customer complaints to determine root cause and improve areas of inefficiencies of product or delivery time

·         Provides leadership to the warehouse team, providing visibility to corporate strategies and ensuring that the team's perspective influences those strategies

·         Recruit, select, orient, coach and motivate employees

·         Identify and manage continuous improvement projects within the areas of receiving, warehousing and shipping.

·         Bachelor’s degree in logistics, supply chain management or business administration

·         Strong knowledge of warehousing Key Performance Indicators (KPIs)

·         Hands on experience with warehouse management software and databases

·         Proven ability to develop and maintain effective and positive relationships with peers and subordinates

·         Expertise in warehouse management procedures and best practices

·         Strategic planning and operations management skills

·         Effective leadership, team building, and mentoring skills

·         Strong communication skills to include verbal, written and listening

·         Strong presentation skills with the ability to influence and motivate others

·         Advanced computer skills in MS Office to include Word and Excel

·         Display a high level of professionalism at all times

·         Ability to work in a changing, fast paced environment is essential
