Iredell Memorial Hospital Earns Quality-Based Accreditation from DNV
Iredell Health System is pleased to announce successful completion of its accreditation process from DNV, a world-leading certification body committed to supporting the development and continual improvement of healthcare quality and patient safety in healthcare organizations.
By earning accreditation, Iredell Memorial Hospital has demonstrated it meets or exceeds patient safety standards set forth by the U.S. Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Services. DNV’s accreditation program is the only one to integrate the ISO 9001 Quality Management System with the Medicare Conditions of Participation.
“We are always so pleased to receive our annual DNV accreditation. DNV truly has made us a better organization. They perform the survey in a collegial and collaborative way, providing us with daily updates of all the great practices and interactions they had around the facility. They also provide best practice recommendations and ways that we can continue to improve. It is a good process for our organization, and I believe that it makes us a safer and better organization for our community,” said John Green, President and CEO of Iredell Health System.
DNV’s hospital accreditation program, called NIAHO® (National Integrated Accreditation of Healthcare Organizations), involves annual hospital surveys – instead of every three years – and encourages hospitals to openly share information across departments and to discover improvements in clinical workflows and safety protocols.
