GFWC of NC Statesville Woman’s Club Donates Toys to Statesville Police Department
During the General Federation of Woman’s Club of North Carolina (GFWC of NC) Statesville Woman’s Club (SWC) December Luncheon meeting the club the project focus was collecting unwrapped toys to help children in need in the community for Christmas. Members brought: art supplies, board games, books, stuffed animals, dolls, basketballs, footballs and other toys.
The toys were in turn given to Statesville Police Department (SPD) for their Fifth Annual Toy Drive. SPD Corporal Chan Austin said this year’s toy drive will help around 350 kids from newborn to seventeen years old. Members of SPD will play as Santa’s elves delivering the estimated 2,000 to 3,000 toys collected just in time to brighten the children’s faces on Christmas morning.
