Davis Regional Medical Center Announces Return of Hospital Volunteers

Last Updated 5/23/2022Posted in News, General Blog

May 18, 2022 STATESVILLE, N.C. — Davis Regional Medical Center welcomes back its Sunshine Volunteers after their two-year absence due to COVID-19 safety protocols. Closely monitoring the decreasing hospitalizations and community spread percentages, hospital leadership decided the time was right for the volunteers’ return.

“We’re so happy to welcome our volunteers back after a two-year hiatus as their kindness and enthusiam has been greatly missed by all,” said Network Chief Executive Officer, Clyde Wood.

Employees and medical staff recognize the integral role of volunteers in the hospital. They impact everyone who walks in the door as a friendly face offering guidance and assistance to all.

“The volunteers are an important part of our Davis family, and we are so fortunate to have them back. They are an invaluable complement to hospital operations, and they make such a difference in the lives of our patients, family members, visitors, and staff,” said Network Chief Operating Officer, Matthew Littlejohn.

Davis Regional Medical Center’s volunteers welcome new members. If you are interested in becoming a Sunshine Volunteer, visit davisregional.com for more information or email Mitzie McCurdy, Director of Community Outreach at [email protected]
